I have reached 65 and every time I think I am about to settle on a regular routine someone or something has a different plan for me. I have come to expect this as the normal life. At least the challenges are not complicated with a full time job anymore so that makes most of them enjoyable in most aspects. I love to solve problems and work towards a solution.

Thank you all for your well wishes. They both said I Do and are now married. It was absolutely beautiful. So now both of kids 31 and 25 are married 1 year and 1 day apart.
I am back home on the opposite coast with a full house of out of town guest including my grandkids. My son and his wife who were married a year ago decided to finally take a honeymoon.

Petty Rules
by HereIgo indid your congregation have any petty man made rules?
i remember the elders in my cong didn't like if a single brother and single sister walked in the parking lot together after the meeting ended, to their car.
you couldn't hold the mic or give a talk without a coat (that might be a universal jw rule).

Wayward,
I was never a JW that is a good thing, I also live where it is warm/hot most of the year. I am 65 and just failed pretty much the entire last half of your list. Yes I had to buy my first pair of Nylons for my daughter's wedding this past weekend, I haven't worn a pair of those things in 3 years.

StaphaneLaliberte,
I believe the neighbors did not and was tired of people parking on their lawns. Would you like people parking on your front lawn? This entire area has no street parking. I assure you if one of this particular KH neighbors held a blowout party they most definitely would have more then sufficient parking in their front yard (far more then this dinky little KH has). I do believe most of these front lawn could park 75 to 100 cars nicely.
I will also guarantee you that the members of the KH do not go d2d in this neighborhood because each house sits behind a huge wall and individual coded gates.
Don't get me wrong WT is sitting on prime real estate the assessment is a half million which is the about one of the cheapest things for miles, they are one of the few not sitting on water. The ones on water are just plain out of site and unaffordable.
The other thing about this KH that I have always wondered about most KH are placed where there is lots of traffic on a main street/highway very visible. Never a JW but that was my understanding? Well this one, you better have a mighty fine GPS cause you just ain't gonna find this one without very good directions. It is well hidden and buried.

Thank you all. My two 2 year old grand babies are helping me pack today. Yeap they are not much help. Lol. They unpack as I pack but it is always fun. My grandkids have already developed serious opinions on fashions.

WingCommander,
I am a mom, she is 25 she is still and always will be my baby!!! And she knows it. On her 25th birthday we did not tell her I was going to drive 4 hrs to take her to breakfast. Her boyfriend told her he left his wallet in the car go get it. We are going down there in a minute to leave for breakfast anyway. No just go get it. As she is coming down the stairs. I KNOW THAT BUMPER! !! she starts bawling. By the time she reach me she was uncontrollable we just are that close. She stood there hugging me forever. I finally said ready for breakfast. Sure let me get A. He looked at her and said I am not going anywhere you are going with your mom it's been planned for weeks.
I am truly excited for her. It is that final letting go and she is grown up and ready to start her own family. Marriage is a big step.

She moved away 5 years ago but still was totally mine till 2 years ago when Mr. Wonderful appeared in her life. They picked the date for their wedding 10 months ago and both myself and fil stated that is still Hurricane season. Their reply: don't worry we will just have t-shirts made up "we survived A&C Hurricane Wedding".
Yes, their area was one of the hardest hit by the hurricane but the wedding is still on as planned. MIL & FIL home on a beach where homes are just washed away parts of the road is just washed away. The estimated damage on that island alone is 2 billion. Their home sustained minimal damage and they finally got electicity on Wednesday. The grandparents home out in the country where the wedding is to take place only had down trees and lost power for 3 days.
I have made all of the silk flowers for her wedding, (arrangements, bridesmaid bouquets and her orchid bouquet). She has seen pics of all but hers that is to be shared in a private moment for mom and daughter.
Then the big step will be at 2 pm Saturday when MOM gets to walk her down the aisle because as she said You raised me Mom you were both Mom and Dad. I will proudly walk her to him. And my best girlfriend will perform the ceremony, she is an ordained minister.
She is 25 I guess it is time to let her go. But really I let my kids go be free years ago. They have always been free to make their own choices without my judgments.

Diogenesister,
I agree I miss the church choirs. My church had a very large choir and a huge pipe organ. Music was a very large part of their program.
I travel a lot by car up and down the east coast and for awhile my daughter made these trips with me. Her statement to me upon departure I have my music I can only take so much of "Yours." I probably have the best collection of Gospel music on CDs at least 15 hours.

Never a JW and even giving up on Religion I still enjoy going to churches especially some of the older ones. When the "Elder" and I would get together and we would go for long walks through old towns I would point out the churches. The first time this happened he started to give me his belief lecture and I replied look then don't look at as a church look at it as much lost ART because we sure do not have craftsmen building architecture anything like these buildings today. Even though I have given up on Religion I still enjoy seeing the inside architecture of the church and totally love listening to a wonderful choir. And there are those rare occasions I happen on a dynamic minister.

I have been wondering if one near me has closed. In the past the gates to the parking lot were always locked during off hours now they are always open. Now there also seems to never be any cars in the lot ever ever ever.
But the other KH same distance from me has had to re-pave their property because they ran out of parking spaces and the neighborhood allows NO street parking any where in the neighborhood. They just put up over 100 NO Parking Signs in a 3 mile radius of that KH. It was cute when they installed all the No Parking signs for 2 weeks the city put one of those big flashing signs across the street that read Parking tickets $120. It was pointed facing the KH entrance.
